Lubna Marium to receive the prestigious Proyash Somman Award

The esteemed dancer, art director and researcher Lubna Marium has been announced to receive the prestigious Proyash Somman Award 2018 for her "outstanding contribution to the growth and development of dance".  To be held at Uttam Mancha, Kolkata today, the annual Proyash Somman award ceremony aims to pay tribute to the remarkable individuals who have had lasting positive impact in their respective fields through ceaseless contribution. This year, the award is being given to Bangladesh's very own Lubna Marium, who is well-known for her work as a cultural activist and dance scholar. On the same night, Madhabi Mukhopadhyay will also be honored likewise. "Of course, I am happy to be receiving this award," stated Lubna Marium, "but what makes it even better is being awarded alongside Madhabi Mukhopadhyay. It is truly an honorable experience."
