Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef 2018
New day, new challenges, and a new kitchen! Last week, the remaining six of the super chef kitchen was ready for their 21st challenge in the city's famous Istanbul Restaurant. Under the arch of the amazing new kitchen, the aspiring chefs of tomorrow geared for another fierce round of cooking to test their baking skills. Aprons tied, ingredients ready, and utensils propped on the counter- participants rushed to get the best ingredients with a budget of only 2000 taka to prepare their best-baked dish or a mouthwatering steak. In no time, the new kitchen at the Istanbul Restaurant experienced life in the kitchen like never before as each of the top six participants was ready for another go at the title of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef.
While everyone was busy giving their best to get their boat over the line, Madia Sultana Tisha was stuck in her own troubles. Having been previously warned about her hygiene issues in preparation, she was walking on thin ice. Lost in the excitement of preparing a succulent beef steak with sautéed vegetables, Tisha made an oversight by not washing vegetable properly. As they say, mistakes in the Super Chef kitchen rarely go unpunished and this time was no different for Tisha as she had to pay the price by being eliminated from the kitchen by Judge Nafiz Islam Lipi. On the other end, efforts did not go unnoticed as well because although a little short on garnish, Ripna won hearts with the flavors and taste of her 'Lemon Cake with Lemon Glazed Short Bread'.
Time flies, right? In no time, the 22nd episode saw the return of the mystery box, a challenge that is equally filled with suspense and thrill for everyone. This time, the mystery box caught the remaining five completely off-guard as rightly said by Nadia Natasha, “I was totally fooled by the phool (flowers) in the mystery box.” But has anything stopped these amazing five? Then why now? Soon, they emerged into a cook-off which saw the five most promising Chefs in Bangladesh battling against each other.
Saika Yesmine, topped everyone else in the race as she made the best out of the flowers as a cooking ingredient with her 'Stuffed Pumpkin Flower and Stuffed Rose Laddu'. Her innovation and taste got her to the final of the Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef whereas the day did not turn out as good for Ripna, last week's best dish winner, who just missed out from being in the final 4 after being eliminated from the pressure test.
Ripna's departure proved that in the Super Chef kitchen you always need to be the best and with only 4 participants remaining, the Super Chef kitchen is about to get more intense and exciting. To keep an eye on the most happening culinary show in Bangladesh, do not forget to tune into ntv next week on Saturday and Sunday sharp at 9:00 pm.
