2 ‘robbers’ killed in Nganj, Feni ‘gunfights’
Two alleged robbers were killed in separate “gunfights” with law enforcers in Narayanganj and Feni today.
In Narayanganj, Parvez, 28, who was killed in an alleged gunfight in Fatulla, was accused in a case filed with Fatullah Model Police Station on May 13, our district correspondent reports quoting police.
After receiving information that a group of robbers took position in Fatullah’s Dapa Alamin area, a team of police raided the area around 2:30am, said Md Shahjalal, inspector(investigation) of Fatullah Model Police Station.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the gang members opened fire, forcing the officers to retaliate that triggered a “gunfight”, he said.
After the gang members fled the scene, police found Parvez with bullet wounds, the inspector said.
Later, Parvez was taken to Narayanganj General Hospital where doctors declared him dead, he added.
A revolver loaded with two bullets was recovered from the spot.
In Feni, Musa was killed in a gunfight with police, a day after he was arrested by Dagon Bhuiyan police on Tuesday.
Musa was accused in six cases including murder and rape, our Feni correspondent reports quoting, Abul Kalam, officer in-charge of Dagon Bhuiyan Police Station.
Based on his information, a team of police went to the same area to arrest another robber named Chutu.
As soon as the law enforcers reached the spot along with Musa, the gang members opened fire, prompting the officers to retaliate triggering a “gunfight”, the OC said.
Musa caught in the line of fire and died on the spot, he said.
A foreign pistol and three bullets were recovered from the scene, he added.
