‘On a given day, you can beat any team in T20s’
Bangladesh's T20 vice-captain Mahmudullah Riyad said that the T20 series against Afghanistan will be a challenge since there are no big or small teams in T20 cricket.
"I personally feel that there are no big or small teams in T20 format. If you perform well on a given day then you can beat anyone," he said.
Bangladesh know that Afghanistan have become a formidable T20 team, winning two of their last three T20I series. With world class bowlers like Rashid Khan in the side, they will mount a challenge for Bangladesh.
"We played Rashid Khan before during a home series here. The way they have variety in their bowling attack, the same way, our batting lineup is capable of facing them," he said.
Riyad also said that Tigers have more depth in their batting and will focus on that strength.
"We will focus on our batting depth. They way we played in the Nidahas Trophy, taking calculative risks, that is how we should apply ourselves. If we can do that then we can get a positive result," he concluded.
