People murdered in the name of anti-drug drives: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today alleged that people are being killed in “crossfires” across the country in the name of anti-narcotics drives.
General people including civil society and political quarters of the country are panicked over the government's so-called gunfights during the drives, Fakhrul said.
He was talking to journalists at his village home in Thakurgaon in the morning, reports our district correspondent.
Around 30 people have been killed in "crossfire" in the span of a few days in the name of anti-narcotic drives, Fakhrul mentioned.
"We want drives against narcotics… but it doesn't mean people are picked up randomly and killed in crossfire," the BNP leader said adding that "drug peddlers should be brought to justice."
