Order on Khaleda’s bail in 3 cases tomorrow
The High Court today fixed tomorrow for passing order on three petitions filed by BNP ChairpersonKhaleda Zia seeking bail in three separate cases.
The HC bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice JBM Hassan fixed the date after concluding hearing on the petitions.
Among the three cases, two were filed in Comilla on charge of vandalising vehicles on January 25, 2015; and killing seven persons and injuring 25-26 others by setting fire on a passenger bus in Chauddagram on February 2, 2015.
The third was filed by RaihanFaruki Imam with a Narail court on September 24, 2015, against Khaleda for making a statement about the number of freedom fighters and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
AdvocateMasud Rana filed the petitions after the HC earlier in the day permitted the BNP chief to move the three bail petitions before it in the cases.
Earlier on May 16, the SC upheld a HC order that granted bail to Khaleda for four months in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case in which she was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment.
She however could not get released from the jail following the SC judgement as she is shown arrested in seven other cases in including the three.
