BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul today called upon the countrymen to build a strong resistance against the “extra-judicial killings” being continued in the name of war against narcotics.

"Awami League government is killing people like birds to shift its failure to another direction. It can't be continued. We will have to form a strong resistance against such killing," Fakhrul came up with the call while addressing an iftar party in Dhaka this afternoon.

Claiming that BNP has been raising the question from the beginning of the anti-drug drives, Fakhrul said the government is indulged in such drives targeting to attain its “evil design”.

About the death of Teknaf municipality councillor Akramul Haque, Fakhrul said local people have claimed that the victim was not involved in Yaba trading and the video clip that went viral in mass and social media unveiled the government's motive behind such operation.

A stagnated situation is prevailing in the country's every sector as the government has “destroyed” the country's democracy, he alleged.
