Don’t harass rivals in probing foreigners’ killing: BNP
BNP Spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon today called upon the government not to harass its political opponents in the name of enquiry into the killing of two foreign nationals.
In a statement sent to the media this evening, Ripon also called upon the media to play a brave role in revealing the truth behind the killings.
Quoting media reports that Swechchhasebak Dal President Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel will be charged with the murder of Italian citizen Cesare Tavella, Nazrul urged the government to refrain from bringing such “strange” allegation against the opposition men.
Cesare Tavella was gunned down by some miscreants on September 28 in the city’s Gulshan diplomatic zone. Five days into the killing, Japanese national Kunio Hoshi was shot dead by three men riding on a motorbike at Alutila village in Kaunia upazila on the morning of October 3.
