Mohila League leader found dead in Chandpur

A central leader of pro-ruling party organisation Mohila League was found dead at her residence in Chandpur’s Faridganj last night.

Deceased Shahin Sultana Fancy, 57, was the principal of Gollak Degree College and wife of district Awami League’s Joint Secretary General Jahirul Islam.

She is said to be a central committee member of the Mohila League.

Her body was found lying in a pool of blood around 10:00pm, our local correspondent reports quoting Wali Ullah, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station.

According to what could be gathered, the couple was not in good terms as Jahirul married a second time without Fancy’s consent.

The OC suspected it was a “planned murder” and detained Jahirul and his second wife for general interrogation. The body was sent to Chandpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
