PM for stern action against child abusers
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today warned of stern actions against children repressors and killers.
"We must try those involved in torturing or killing children," the premier vowed while addressing a discussion to mark the 51st birth anniversary of her youngest brother Sheikh Russel at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.
She said the government is working to build a safe country for children.
Children of same age always remind her of Russel, the prime minister said.
Russell, the youngest son of Bangabandhu, was born on October 18, 1964 at the Dhanmondi 32 house in the capital. He was killed along with his father and most other family members on August 15, 1975 when he was a student of class IV at University Laboratory School.
On his birthday, ruling Awami League and its associate ogranisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day with due respect.
