RMG worker raped in N'ganj, 2 held

Two youths were held this evening in connection with a case filed for raping a garments worker in Fatulla upazila of Narayanganj.

According to the case statement, the arrestees-- Shadhin Ahmed, 25, and Tanvir Ahmed, 26, -- along with another youth, Shanto, snatched the victim's mobile phone when she was going to her workplace yesterday afternoon.

When the girl tried to chase them to take her phone back, Shadhin reportedly raped her in assistance of Tanvir and Shanto at an abandoned building in Bhabibazar area, Sub-Inspector Enamul Huq from Fatulla Police Station said quoting the statement.

Police arrested Shadhin and Tanvir from Bhabibazar area this evening, a day after the victim's father filed the case with the police station, the SI told our Narayanganj correspondent.

Later in primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed to their involvement in the crime, he added.
