Best of E3 2018
Forza Horizon 4
Playground's newest arcade racing game is set in Britain, promising awesome weather effects and jaw-dropping visuals. This year, the publisher Microsoft Studios decided to reveal Forza Horizon 4 as it alternates between simulation racing and arcade racing in a franchise cycle of two years. The trailer for the game sees a McLaren Senna speed across the landscape of the game, showing off the themes and possible visuals of the game. As always, Forza is known for innovative and easy-going social features which require less grind than most games nowadays. Horizon 4 will be released on October 2.
Anthem
Anthem is Bioware's brand new mech combat franchise. The game was revealed last year, but this year we got a closer look. The game doesn't look all that amazing in Console demos, but a 4K 60FPS demo was shown in PC Gaming Show in E3. It looked like the best graphics PC has ever seen as maxed out rigs were pushed to the max for running the game. Shackled by EA's terrible loot system, Anthem still looks like a fun game to play. The game is set to release on February 22, 2019.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Fans of the video game franchise Assassin's Creed rejoice as another instalment in the franchise has been announced in E3. For the first time in the game, players get a choice of playing as a female character. Set in Ancient Greece this time, players play as an outcast Spartan. The trailer looked absolutely amazing, and the graphics seem to impress. The game is set to release on October 5.
Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima, the brilliant mind behind Metal Gear franchise, showed off his new video game, Death Stranding. Essentially, Death Stranding plays as a stealth game. You play as Sam (Played by Norman Reedus) delivering a package across a seemingly apocalyptic scenario, with Mads Mikkelsen as the antagonist.. Of course, Kojima isn't going to reveal anything else. Nothing has been announced as of yet, not even a tentative release date and still we seem to be hyped about it. With a powerful star-cast and interesting gameplay element, Death Stranding might be one of the best video games of the PS4.
Ghost of Tsushima
Sucker Punch Studios, developers of the brilliant Infamous franchise for PS3 and PS4, have shown their brand new franchise called Ghost of Tsushima. The open world game is set in Japan during the first Mongol invasion. It is an open world game and features badass Samurai duels. Sounds great, but we don't have a release date yet. Also, it's a PS4 exclusive. Bummer!
Fallout 76
Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer action role-playing video game, developed by Bethesda Game Studios. As per the series setting, it is set in a post-apocalyptic scenario. The game claims to feature a world up to four times the size of Fallout 4, setting itself in West Virginia, way before the original Fallout timeline began. One notable element of the video game is the use of nuclear warheads. After acquiring missile launch codes, the player can choose to launch missiles and re-shape the game world at any point of the map. The game is set to release on November 14, 2018.
Spider-Man
Makers of Resistance franchise on PS3 are making a licensed video-game title for the PS4 based on Spiderman. We got a trailer last year, but this year we got to see a gameplay demo as well. From what it seems, this new video game looks quite fun to play. Graphics have seemingly been downgraded, probably for hardware limitations on PlayStation. The movement is fluid and web-slinging feels satisfying, but combat is still something that needs to be ironed out for a proper Spider-Man video game. The game is set to release on September 7.
Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt Red, the polish developers who stole every "Game of the Year" awards with their legendary game Witcher 3, is back with a futuristic franchise called Cyberpunk 2077. It's a game full of big ideas and great play-style, obviously inspired by the classic Deus Ex games. We haven't been shown a gameplay demo yet, but attendees were offered a demo behind closed doors in Sony conference, and people claim to be blown away by the game. We don't have a release date yet, but hopefully, it'll be soon.
