Chanchal Chowdhury and Jaya Ahsan starrer Debi, a film adaptation of cultural legend Humayun Ahmed's novel of the same name, released its second teaser trailer on Thursday. The novel Debi – the first of the Misir Ali series, is considered one of the best creations of the late author and a treat to readers who enjoy mysteries and paranormal fiction.
The distributor of the film, Jaaz Multimedia, released the teaser on their official Facebook page and YouTube channel as well. The film is directed by Anam Biswas and produced by Jaya Ahsan as her first production from her company C-te Cinema.
The first glimpse of Misir Ali, the protagonist of the story played by Chowdhury, is revealed in the teaser. Misir Ali is not a professional psychiatrist. Yet people come to him for psychiatric treatment because of his special interest and knowledge in parapsychology.
The video, which clocks at just under a minute, shows a dark and gloomy Dhaka with Misir Ali in the backdrop. Chowdhury is seen smoking and meddling with a string from time to time. He also wears casual attires and glasses and has white hair.
Interestingly, the makers of the film dropped the new teaser right after Humayun Ahmed's 6th death anniversary.
