6 killed in Magura, Rangpur road crashes
At least six people were killed in three separate road accidents in Magura and Rangpur districts today.
In Magura, Sahabuddin, 50, a passenger of the van died on the spot when a pickup van plunged into a ditch in Ramnagar area on Magura-Jessore highway, reports our local correspondent quoting A Sakur, sub-inspector, in-charge of Maruga-Ramnagar Highway Police Outpost.
In another incident, a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw driver named Rubel was killed in a road accident in Alam Khali area when a bus rammed into the vehicle on Magura-Jhenaidah highway, the correspondent reports quoting police.
In Rangpur, four people were killed and two others injured as a bus rammed an auto-rickshaw on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Hajirhat area of Rangpur city, reports UNB.
Two of the deceased were identified as Saju and Chand.
The accident took place around 7:00am when a Thakurgaon-bound bus hit the auto-rickshaw leaving two of its passengers dead on the spot and four others injured, said Md Nowshad, sub-inspector of Taraganj Highway Police Outpost.
The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where two of them succumbed to the injuries.
