The election results may be on halt but preliminary numbers put PTI firmly in the lead, and most people have more or less called it: Imran Khan will be Pakistan's next Prime Minister.

Jemima Khan, former wife and unwavering supporter of the PTI chief, has paid tribute to his years of political struggle on Twitter.

Congratulating Imran for becoming PM, she says that his challenge now is to remember why he entered politics in the first place:

From Imran Khan's rather abortive election debut in 1997 to his reported triumph yesterday, it's clear it can take decades for political ambitions to be realised.
