Kids and colours

Jhilimili organised an art exhibition titled Shoishob at the EMK Center yesterday to showcase the artwork of street children so the audience can appreciate their joy of colours.

With a benevolent approach towards the children of the streets, Jhilimili started as a volunteer project by the students of IBA, Dhaka University, to provide schooling to the little ones. After the success of their educational endeavour, they decided to embark on a colourful project with those children. The young ones were provided with crayons and asked to enliven their imaginations on paper. The outcome of the little artists not only shed light on their creativity, but also highlighted their potential to grow as human beings, if only provided with the right circumstances.

The walls of the gallery were adorned with all the artworks along with photos of every artist. Sharif Ahmed, one of the coordinators present the event told The Daily Star, “This is a first of its kind initiative taken by Jhilimili. However, given the fact that the children had a remarkable time depicting their thoughts through colors, we hope to conduct more similar workshops alongside their education. Our only aim is to enable a better and brighter future for the children.”
