Two people including a school student were killed and 20 others injured in road accidents in two districts yesterday, report our correspondents.

In Satkhira, a schoolgirl was killed as a truck ran her over at Badartola-Katakhali crossing on Parulia-Ashashuni road in Ashashuni upazila. Tithi Sarnakar, 13, was a seventh-grade student of Badartola JC Secondary School.

Truck driver Nur Amin and his helper Munna Sarder were handed over to police.

In Sherpur, a truck driver was killed and 20 were injured when it collided head-on with a bus in Paiska of Nokla upazila, said police. The deceased was identified as Nahid, 25.
