Muggers kill youth in Dhaka

Muggers stabbed a youth to death in Kuril Bishwa Road area of Dhaka this morning.
The deceased was identified as Ananta Biswas, 28, a resident of Gaibandha district.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. A gang of muggers, riding a private car, swooped on Ananta and his wife Kakoli Biswas when they just got down from a bus from Gaibandha on their way home around 5:45am, police said.
When the muggers tried to snatch away Kakoli's belongings, Ananta tried to resist them.
Barred, the muggers stabbed Ananta with a sharp weapon leaving him critical injuries.
Ananta was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Sub-inspector of Khilkhet Police Station Shahidur Rahman confirmed the incident.
