Two people were killed and 20 others injured in a road crash at Daudkandi upazilla of Comilla early today.

The deceased were identified as Jamal Uddin,30, son of Mojammel Hossain of Sonatola area of Bogra and Yeasin, son of Mojaher Uddin of Anowara area of Chittagong, our local correspondent reports quoting Sub-Inspector (SI) Nakib Uddin of Daudkandi Highway Police Station.

The accident took place when a Chittagong bound bus of Shyamoli Paribahan lost control and crashed into a roadside tree in Zinglatoli area on Dhaka-CTG highway, reports our local correspondent.

The bus then fell into a ditch along the highway around 4:30 am, Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge(OC) of Daudkandi Highway Police Station said.

Around 20 passengers of the bus were injured, the OC added.

In another accident, a Rangpur bound bus of the same bus company also lost control and fell into another ditch in Daudkandi’s Raypur area on Dhaka-CTG highway.

The accident that injured 10 people also took place around 4:30 am, Abul Kalam Azad confirmed.
