6 killed as train hits three-wheeler in Jamalpur
At least six people, including three of a family, were killed as a commuter train rammed a battery-run three-wheeler in Melandah upazila of Jamalpur this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Zarina Begum, 45, her son Hashu Mia, 25, and daughter Bristi, 22, of Shyampur village, Hasna, 25, of Uttar Balurchar village, Chikuli Rishi, 30, and Nindu Moni, 40, both hailing from Kajirpara village, our Jamalpur correspondent reports quoting Government Railway Police (GRP).
A Dhaka-bound commuter train from Dewanganj hit the three-wheeler, at Noyanagar level crossing around 1:45pm, leaving the seven people dead on the spot, Jamalpur Railway Police Station officer-in-charge Md Alauddin told our correspondent.
The deceased were taken to Jamalpur Sadar Hospital Morgue the OC informed.
