44 high schools nationalised

The government has nationalised 44 more secondary schools in different parts of the country to ensure quality education.

The Ministry of Education today issued a gazette notification to make the decision effective immediately.

With the 44, the total number of the government secondary high schools stand at 531.

Teachers of the newly nationalised educational institutes would not be allowed to take transferee until further notice, the notification said.  

The government has taken the decision as part of its plan to set up at least a government secondary high school and a college at each upazila across the country.

In line with the decision, a total of 325 nongovernment secondary schools will be nationalised to make the mission a success.
