BNP anxious over Khaleda’s medical board
BNP today expressed grave concern over the exclusion of Khaleda Zia’s personal physicians in the medical board formed by the government for her health check-up at jail.
“We put names of five specialised doctors. But the names were not included. It is nothing but emotional hatred towards Khaleda Zia,” BNP spokesperson Rizvi Ahmed said.
Speaking at a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka this evening, Rizvi, BNP’s senior joint secretary general, said the government is pushing Khaleda towards risk without providing her proper treatment.
The government has formed a fresh medical board with five experienced doctors from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University to examine Khaleda Zia's health condition in jail.
According to source, the medical board is likely to examine Khaleda Zia in jail on September 15 or 16.
Rizvi said all the doctors of the medical board are politically biased and some of them are going to the contest the next general election with Awami League tickets.
The medical board will work in line with the directives of the government and Khaleda Zia will be denied of proper treatment, he alleged.
