Illegally imported medicine seized at Dhaka airport

Customs intelligence seized a consignment of illegally imported foreign medicine worth Tk 1 crore from a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning.
The medicine was found searching two luggage of M Jamal, who arrived at the Dhaka airport by a flight of Tk-0712 from Egypt around 5:00am, Dr Shahidul Islam, director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID), told The Daily Star.
Tipped off, a team of the Customs intelligence intercepted Jamal when he along with two luggage was crossing green channel around 6:00am, he said.
The seized medicines are Duphaston (12,000 pieces), Mixtard (2,000 pieces), Neoral 25 mg (15,000 pieces), Neoral 50 mg (2,000 pieces) and NovoRapid (250 pieces).
