BNP calls public meeting in Dhaka Thursday

Political opposition BNP has called for a public meeting in capital Dhaka for Thursday.
The party’s senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme from a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office today.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. “We will hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan or at Paltan, near our office, on Thursday. We have completed all formalities regarding venue permission,” he said.
Notably, the declaration of this rally comes after BNP’s participation in the Jatiya Oikya Prokriya rally last Saturday – a programme that is now the talk of the political arena.
Dr Kamal Hossain-led Oikya Prokriya accommodated several political parties in that programme, which was held in Gulistan last Saturday.
