‘Thugs of Hindostan’ expected to be a big hit

Trailer goes viral

Movie lovers are anticipating a big success for the upcoming Bollywood film 'Thugs of Hindostan' after the trailer of the film goes viral just after its release, bagging millions of views.

This is the most expensive movie made in Bollywood so far. The film's trailer has got 42,617,540 views on YouTube till filing of this report. The trailer of the movie, produced by Yash Raj Films, was released on September 24.

Set in 1795, at the time of British rule in India, the movie depicts a story of a band of thugs led by Khudabaksh (Amitabh Bachchan), who dreams of freeing India from British East India Company, and is seen flashing his sword and doing action stunts in the trailer.

British commander sends Firangi Mallah (Aamir Khan) to infiltrate Khudabaksh's plans and the story revolves around that.

The visual effects are, however, criticised for being too similar with the Pirates of Caribbean series and perfectionist Aamir Khan's get up seems like that of Captain Jack Sparrow, portrayed by Johnny Depp, in the series.

The fans of Aamir Khan, who expect his movie to be with a message like his recent films, should not get their hopes high as Aamir has told the South China Morning Post, "Thugs of Hindostan is a big action-adventure film. There's no message in that. I am playing a character who cannot be trusted at all – [so it's the] very opposite of Dangal … He's a very slippery character. He has no scruples at all – for money he can sell his mother out. He's like that."

'Thugs of Hindostan' will be released on November 8 this year on the occasion of the Diwali festival.
