AL not countering BNP programmes: Quader
Awami League is not countering BNP, rather it is holding its own programmes in an innocent manner, the party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader said today.
"Our programmes are innocent. Our programmes are connected with the people. We will go to people and will not spread any kind of disturbance," Quader said.
He made the remarks after inaugurating the party's seven-day long electioneering campaign in Gulshan- 2 of Dhaka centring the upcoming national election.
"We are far from violence and enmity. If the communal force BNP along with other communal forces try to incite violence, then we will deter them taking the people by our side. This is our goal," he said.
He also urged the people of the country to remain alert against any attempt at creating anarchy in the country by "the communal forces".
Asked about the seven-point demand from the opposition party BNP, Quader said that there is no scope for meeting such demands.
"The demands are illogical and unconstitutional," he added.
