Thinkdemy to hold 'Rejected 2018 - Design Expo'
Thinkdemy, a cross-disciplinary knowledge sharing platform, is going to organise a 2-day exhibition titled 'Rejected 2018 - Design Expo' on October 12 at Dhaka’s Drik Gallery where talented designers from all parts of the country will be able to exhibit their unconventional creative work.
'Rejected 2018’ is a first-of-its-kind design expo in Bangladesh, where design enthusiasts, professionals, freelance designers and design students will have an exclusive opportunity to showcase their creative work, design concepts and ideas, reads a press release issued in this regard.
Through this exhibition, the organisers aim to encourage creativity and passion within the design community of Bangladesh, the press release explains.
Onindo Ahmed, Co-founder and Envisioner at Thinkdemy explained the idea behind this expo saying that "Great designs are often misunderstood. They're mostly criticized for reasons like feasibility, budget constraints, mismatch with the requirements, not being able to meet deadlines or simply because the client, professor or supervisor had a different taste. We want to showcase such unconventional creative work at the expo, because seemingly 'crazy' ideas have the potential to change things."
The exhibition will take place at Drik Gallery, Dhanmondi on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Eminent judges and guests are going to evaluate the submissions and will share their thoughts on the creative work.
One exhibitor from each category will be awarded with the 'Thinkdemy Award for Design Excellence'. The winners of this prestigious award will enjoy exposure through radio channel Dhaka FM 90.4, English daily The Daily Star, Thinkdemy’s Official Facebook Page and in the ‘Rejected’ Website. Besides, each exhibitor will receive certification and endorsement from Thinkdemy and the partner organisations.
The event is powered by Platinum Sponsor Mir Cement. Other partners include The Daily Star, Dhaka FM 90.4, Youth Opportunities, Boomerang Digital, WE Design and We R Makers. To know more about the expo visit www.rejectedexpo.com.
