A student of Dhaka University (DU), who has been observing hunger-strike for the last three days demanding fresh admission test for "Gha" unit at the university, fell sick this afternoon.

Akhtar Hossen, 21, a third-year student of DU law department, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around this afternoon after he fell sick, Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the police outpost at the hospital, told The Daily Star.

Akhtar began the hunger strike in front of Raju memorial sculpture at TSC on the campus, hours before the publication of the admission test results on Tuesday.

Around 1:30pm today, DU Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani met Akhtar at Raju Sculpture and requested him to break the hunger strike assuring that he (proctor) will discuss the issue with the university administration, reports our DU correspondent.

However, Akhter refused to break his hunger strike unit his demand is met.

Later, Akhtar fell sick and then he was taken to the hospital.    

The admission test for "Gha" unit was held on Friday amid allegations of question paper leak. The result was published on Tuesday.

However, the university authorities admitted that the question paper of “Gha” Unit admission test was leaked via “digital forgery”.
