Fall essentials for when you're on the move
The weather nowadays seems to be erratic and moody as the citizens of this city, changing without notice. As the nights get longer and you turn down your ceiling fans' speed a notch, you realise that the humidity and heat of summer are long gone. But as pleasant as the chilly breezes may feel at first, they do bear a bleak reminder for you to buckle up and start preparing for fall.
It is time to pay some extra attention to your body, skin and hair, especially if you are someone who spends more than half the day outdoors. Keeping this season in mind, there are a number of lifesavers that you should carry along with you at all times.
Moisturiser/lotion
Upon fall's arrival, your skin is exposed to the dry and chilly air, thus becoming prone to moisture loss and flakiness. When you are out for long hours without proper moisturising, your skin will tend to feel coarse and look pale. Applying a lotion or moisturiser of your own choice every 3-4 hours will help to retain your skin's natural moisture, making it look and feel healthy and lively.
Lip balm
While applying lip balm may not be an all-year-round habit for many of us; it is surely a must-do in this season if you want to escape the painful dread of dry and cracked lips. Carry a lip balm, chap stick, or even a small box of petroleum jelly to apply it on your lips whenever they start to feel chapped.
Dry shampoo
Showering irregularly or doing so with hot water causes the hair to produce and accumulate more sebum than usual. This is why during autumn and winter our hair becomes greasy quite fast. Carrying a travel/pocket-sized dry shampoo can come in handy and help freshen up your look instantly on wash-free days.
Light shawl or scarf
Even though it feels warm and cosy in the morning, it can get surprisingly cold outside as the sun starts to set early. This is the time when the weather is changing fast and you should be prepared for it. So do not forget to pack a light scarf in your handbag to wrap yourself up if you want to prevent unwanted illnesses.
Water bottle
Be it sunny summer or fickle fall, never forget to take a water bottle along when you go out. Drinking enough water not only helps to detoxify your body, but also helps keep your skin healthier in the dry and dusty season.
