Any attempt to create anarchy over polls will be foiled: Home minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said the law enforcers will foil any attempt to create anarchy in the country centring the upcoming national elections.
The law enforcers are capable of foiling any evil attempts and will take strict measures in this regard, the minister said.
The election will be held in time in free, fair, and peaceful environment and the law enforcers will provide all kind of cooperation to the Election Commission to ensure that, he added.
The minister was talking to journalists on the premises of Old Dhaka Central Jail after placing wreaths at the memorial of the four national leaders -- Tajuddin Ahmed, Syed Nazrul Islam, Captain Monsur Ali and AHM Kamaruzzaman -- who led the Liberation War in the absence of Bangabandhu in 1971. They were brutally murdered on the night of November 3, 1975.
The home minister went there as part of an Awami League delegation to pay homage to the four martyred leaders at their memorial on the Old Central Jail premises.
Meanwhile, Syed Nazrul Islam’s son Major General (retd) Syed Shafayetul Islam, who also went to the Old Dhaka Central Jail to pay homage to the four national leaders, demanded unmasking the identities of those who were behind the plot of the brutal killings of the four leaders.
He also demanded bringing back the fugitive killers from abroad.
