Soumya misses out on ton
Soumya Sarkar has continued his good vain of form in the National Cricket League, striking 83 against Rangpur Division in a Tier 1 match today.
He came in to bat with his team Khulna in trouble, tottering at 33 for 3 losing Anamul Haque, Afif Hossain and veteran Tushar Imran within eight overs after Rangpur declared at 249 for 8. Together with Nurul Hasan, who hit 52, Soumya put on 123-run for the fourth-wicket.
He reached his fifty in 68 deliveries with five fours and two sixes. However, Soumya, who had hit a ton in Tigers' last ODI against Zimbabwe, today fell in the 32nd over, just 11 overs prior to bad light ended the third day's play. His scored at a strike-rate of 74 and hit eight fours and three sixes overall. Khulna reached 192 for 6 at close on Day 3. Earlier in the day, veteran Abdur Razzak bagged four wickets during the match at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
In a Tier 2 match at the Cox's Bazar's Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Academy ground, Enamul Haque jnr bagged a hat-trick and five wickets overall – his 34th five-wicket haul in first-class cricket against Dhaka Division, playing for Sylhet Division.
He removed Taibur Rahman, centurion Abdul Mazid and Nazmul Hossain Millon in consecutive deliveries to attain his hattrick.
