Dhallywood ‘Bhaijan’ too seeks AL nomination

Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan is going to collect Awami League nomination form to contest the upcoming 11th parliamentary election scheduled to be held on December 23.

The superstar himself confirmed the development to The Daily Star this afternoon.

Shakib, who is dearly called ‘Bhaijan’ by his fans following the blockbuster movie of the same name, said he will collect the AL’s nomination paper from the party’s Dhanmondi office tomorrow.

The superstar, however, did not mention from which parliamentary constituency he is going to contest the elections. Meanwhile, a highly-placed source said he is seeking nomination for Gazipur.

Bangladesh National Team cricketers Mashrafe Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan also want to contest the upcoming 11th parliamentary election with ruling Awami League ticket from Narail and Magura respectively.

The cricket avatars talked to Awami League Secretary General Obaidul Quader earlier in the day and expressed their intention to vie for the elections from their own constituencies.
