Unidentified criminals opened fire on the MP's jeep on Cox's Bazar-Teknaf road in Hoaikka Kanjorpara area around 8:30pm, said Alam Bahadur, general secretary of Teknaf upazila AL.

The MP from Cox's Bazar-4 came under attack when he along with Teknaf upazila Chairman Jafar Ahmed and former Teknaf Municipality councillor Faridul Alam was returning home after attending the Kulkhani of late Ahmed Hossain, president of Cox's Bazar AL, he added.

After reaching the spot, he found that there were bullet marks in the vehicle and its back window glass was broken.
