Minor injury mark on Shafayet’s forehead
The body of Shafayet, the two-year old toddler who was found dead in his Bangla Motor house yesterday, bore a minor injury mark on the left side of his forehead.
But the doctors are yet to determine the cause behind the death, Associate Professor Sohel Mahmud, head of Forensic Department at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said after conducting autopsy on Shafayet’s body.
A three-member medical board of DMCH conducted the autopsy on Shafayet. They have collected his liver, brain and heart to run histopathology tests so that the cause of death can be determined, said Sohel Mahmud.
He also added that Safayet’s body does not bear any injury marks inflicted by any sharp weapon and also does not have any injury marks from electrocution, Sohel said.
However, whether the minor injury mark caused Safayet’s death or not can only be known after the histopathology tests.
Meanwhile, a case has been filed Shafayet’s father Nuruzzaman Kajol over his mysterious death.
Police recovered the body of Shafayet and also rescued his older brother from a house in Bangla Motor area and arrested their father Nuruzzaman Kajol.
Shafayet’s mother Maliha Akhter Priya filed the complaint with Shahbag Police Station last night saying that Kajol killed their son, said Maruf Hossain Sarder, deputy commissioner of DMP (Ramna division).
Later, the complaint was recorded as case, said Aslam Ali, sub-inspector and duty officer of the police station.
