DMP issues traffic guidelines in Dhaka for Victory Day
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today issued guidelines for vehicular movement at key points in the capital on the occasion of Victory Day.
According to the DMP guideline, people are asked to use Dhaka Airport-Abdullahpur Crossing-Ashulia route instead of Gabtoli- Amin Bazar bridge- Nabinagar to travel to Savar from 3:30am to 9:30am on December 16.
Drivers of bus, truck, and lorry are advised to use the same route to travel to Savar, the release read.
Dhaka-bound vehicles coming from Aricha-Paturia are requested to move on Baipail-Ashulia route to enter the capital, while those coming from Tangail via Ashulia will have to use Kaliakoir-Gazipur-Tongi route to enter Dhaka.
Also, movement of all commercial vehicles will remain suspended from Zero Point to Gulistan-Rajuk in Dhaka except for those using the flyover as the prime minister, ministers, diplomats, awarded freedom fighters, top officials of Armed Forces and paramilitary agencies will make courtesy call on the president at the Bangabhaban on the occasion of the Victory Day.
Additionally, no vehicle will be allowed to ply on the routes -- Ahad Box-Ittefaq intersection, Alico Gap-Dilkusha commercial area-Rajuk crossing, and Bangabhaban Park-Ittefaq intersection, DMP said in a release.
All buses plying from Shapla Chattar and Dainik Bangla to Rajuk-Gulistan will be allowed to use Dainik-Bangla-UBL Crossing-Press Club route but those are advised to use any convenient route if possible.
No commercial vehicle will be allowed to ply from Dainik Bangla and 24 Tola to Rajuk, according to the release.
