War heroines with Dolonchapa
In an attempt to bring the selfless women and heroines of the liberation war to the public eye, Dolonchapa, the first privately run bus service in Bangladesh, re-branded their 4 buses with the names of valiant freedom fighters, the Late Taramon Bibi (Bir Protik), Padma Rani Rahman, Asma Akhtar Kalpana, Era Kar for the entire month of December. On the occasion of the launch, a small event was organised at the Rangs Group Head Office on 18 December, 2018, where three of the valiant freedom fighters, Padma Rani Rahman, Asma Akhtar Kalpana, and Era Kar were present. At the event, they shared some inspiring and emotional moments of their struggles in 1971. They appreciated Dolonchapa's initiative to empower women and thanked the Zakia Rouf Chowdhury, EVC of Rangs Group, and Sohana Rouf Chowdhury, Director of Rangs Group, and the brains behind the Dolonchapa initiative for organising the event.
Dolonchapa started with two buses, containing features like CCTV surveillance, and first aid amenities to ensure a safe and comfortable commute through Mirpur, Azimpur and Motijheel. Two more buses were launched, with the increasing demand of such safe travels by female commuters. Now, these four buses are ensuring safe travel for women and inspiring others to do the same.
