Yaba seized from salt-laden truck

Law enforcers have busted a delivery of 34,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from a salt laden truck in Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj.

Three people – Saiful, 32, Faruk, 30, and Ershad, 25 – were arrested during the haul, said Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today.

A team of Rab-3 stopped the truck, coming in from Cox’s Bazar at a check post on specific information and busted the merchandise.

Additional superintendent of police and staff officer of Rab-3, Bina Rani Das told The Daily Star that the yaba was found behind the driving seat.

They also seized Tk 1,85,000 cash, suspected money of drug business, from their procession.

The detainees confessed they had been bringing in yaba from Teknaf and delivering them in capital Dhaka for quite some time, Das said.
