Cell to monitor public hospitals: Minister
A monitoring cell will be set up to improve service and accountability at public hospitals in the country, Health Minister Jahid Malek said today.
“We will set up a monitoring cell in the ministry immediately which will help improve services for patients in the hospitals,” he told reporters at his office.
The presence of doctors in the hospital, its cleanliness and fitness of the medical equipment will be monitored through the cell, the minister said.
These efforts are being taken to take improved healthcare service facilities to the doorsteps of the grassroots level people across the country, he added.
Citing Awami League’s election pledge of setting up cancer units at all district hospitals and medical college hospitals across the country, the minister said his government will create awareness through various activities against cancer.
