'Phagun Hawa' to release soon
Based on the 1952 Language Movement, the film Phagun Hawa is set to release on February 8, under the banner of Impress Telefilm Limited. The film is adapted from a story named Bou Kotha Kou, written by Tito Rahman. Directed by Tauquir Ahmed, the film was shot in Paikgachha Upazila of Khulna.
The film will star Tisha, Siam, Abul Hayat, and Fazlur Rahman Babu, among others. Renowned Indian actor Yashpal Sharma will also appear in Phagun Hawa, and will be seen playing the role of a Pakistani police officer. Tisha and Siam have paired up on screen for the first time in this film.
“I always include humour in my films, and I tried to do so in Phagun Hawa as well,” mentioned Tauquir Ahmed. He further added that the film has been submitted to the censor board for approval.
“I feel proud to be a part of a film that is based on an integral part of our history,” said actor Tisha. “I hope the film will reach out to an international audience,” said her co-star, Siam Ahmed.
There are three songs by Pintu Ghosh, Nandita and Sukanya in the film. Initially, the film will release in 30-40 cinema halls.
The cast started filming in March, last year. To create a suitable 'retro' atmosphere, a 100 year-old building in Paikgachha was used for shooting.
The promotions of Phagun Hawa are in full swing with the release of its official teaser and poster, which was designed by Bipasha Hayat.
The director is hopeful about the film. He believes that the audience will receive it positively.
