2 held in Habiganj for illegally selling govt books

Police claimed arrest of two persons from Habiganj municipality on charge of illegally selling textbooks of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).

The arrestees were identified as Rasel Miah, 30, and Hashim Mia, 35, both from Sylhet.

Habiganj police also recovered a total of 5,000 textbooks from the shop located at bus stand area during a drive around 9:00pm last night, our correspondent reports.

District police Additional Superintendent SM Fazlul Haque confirmed the arrests. The drive was led by Officer-in-Charge Golam Kibria of habiganj Police Station.

The government books of eighth, fifth and third grades which are meant to be given to students for free, the ASP also said.
