DRS decision causes controversy in Dhaka-Rajshahi match

The incident took place in the 12th over of the Rajshahi Kings innings with Shakib Al Hasan's Dhaka Dynamites side taking a review. Dhaka succumbed to their first defeat of the tournament and the DRS continued to remain a contentious thing in the Bangladesh Premier League so far.

A leg-before-wicket appeal for Ryen ten Doeschate was turned down by the umpire off the bowling of Sunil Narine but the ball had apparently brushed the gloves of the batsmen and was collected by wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan Sohan. Third-umpire Masudur Rahman took a long time to watch the replay but decided that there perhaps was not enough evidence.

Shakib's Dynamites were perplexed by the decision and batsman Mohammad Naim later said that he was surprised by the call. "The talk was going on about a leg-before decision," he informed. "Sohan (Nurul Hasan) bhai took the catch. If it's not a leg-before then should be a caught behind. So obviously we were a bit surprised, "he concluded.

Dynamites manager said that in the dressing room they found out that there was an edge. "The players were appealing for caught behind and it was seen that there was an edge. The matter did not proceed further. It depends on the umpire," he said.

Dhaka eventually lost the match by 20 runs. It might not appear to be a narrow margin Doeschate had added 13 runs while he batted after the incident.
