Mohila Dal leader arrested

Rab arrested a Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal leader in Chattogram on Monday for “spreading anti-state propaganda” on social media.

Dewan Mahmuda Akhter Lita, 32, is the publication secretary of BNP's women wing in the port city. She was arrested from GEC intersection, said Mashkur Rahman, assistant director of Rab-7 media wing.

On information, Rab detained her in Khulshi area around 10:30pm, he said. “After going through her two cellphones, we found fake photos of government high-ups and fabricated information. She used to spread such propaganda against the government from her Facebook account.”

A case was filed under the Digital Security Act with Khulshi Police Station in this regard, he added.
