Fashion in Peril

Fashion is an unceasing lost-and-found affair. Trends emerge and dissipate, only for some to come back again after a while. While some make comebacks in a big way, there are also some that fall into oblivion.

Fashion in peril makes us realise how far we've come in terms of styling. We've ditched trends, only to make room for the new. And now, so many fashion aspects have become nothing but nostalgic to us. These are styles that was once so admired, but now, barely ever seen in both practical life and runways.

We cannot start this conversation without mentioning a classic- kitten heels. Gaining real popularity in the days of Audrey Hepburn, kitten heels are hardly around now. Fashionably disposed, kitten heels have been replaced by stilettos, wedges, blocks, and booties. Within the working ladies, a sight of kitten heels might still be caught, but it's nothing too significant.

Hats have also been forgotten for a while now. Once a symbol of high-fashion, hats are not adored as much anymore. Just like gloves, which are also heading the way of the dodo, only the royals are ever seen pulling off big, beautiful hats.

Though skirts are always in, the same might not be the case with the once-famous swing skirts. The overly-flowy vintage skirts, particularly poodle skirts, used to be a wardrobe must-have back in the day. But these skirts have not stepped into modern fashion in the longest while.

Another nostalgia-inducing trend has to be headbands. Bandanas have sure made a comeback, but the same hasn't been the case with the classic headbands. Only worn for practical use, headbands haven't been in style for a while, and we're afraid, just like many other trends, this chic piece might now be on the verge of oblivion.

Keeping up with the ever-fluctuating fashion world might be hard, but it's nice to look back and adore our forgotten fashion. Incorporating the lost in current styles might not be a bad idea as well. Who knows, maybe you're the one who can bring back fashion in peril and become the next trendsetter?
