BTRC gets new chairman

The government yesterday appointed Bangladesh Tele-communication Regulatory Commission's legal commissioner as its chairman.

Md Jahurul Haque had been serving as legal commissioner for about three and a half years.

A former sessions judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, Haque will take on his new office till December 20, 2020, according to a gazette notification.

He had also been performing duties as acting chairman since May 7 last year when the tenure of his predecessor, Shahjahan Mahmood, had ended.
