28 BNP men sent to jail in Ctg

A Chattogram court today sent 28 leaders and activists of BNP to jail in 11 cases filed over their alleged involvement in subversive activities in the port city.

Judge of Chattogram Metropolitan Session Judge’s Court Akbar Hossain Mridha passed the order after the 28 leaders and activists of Chattogram city unit BNP surrendered before the court in the cases as per the High Court order, said Public Prosecutor Advocate Fakhruddin Chowdhury.

City unit BNP’s Vice-President Safiqur Rahman, Joint Secretary Abdul Halim alias Shah Alam were among the 28 BNP men.

The cases were filed against the BNP men with city’s Khulshi Police station before the general election in December last year.
