Jubo League man killed in Pabna

A Jubo League man was hacked to death by unidentified criminals in Pabna Sadar upazila this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Khairul Islam, 40, a resident of Char Shibrampur village and also a member of Hemayertpur union unit Jubo League, our Pabna correspond reports quoting police.

Khairul came under attacked by a group of criminals in the village near the Padma river around 3:30pm, said Obaidul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

The attackers chopped him with sharp weapons indiscriminately and also severed the tendons of his legs.

Locals took the injured Khairul to Pabna General Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 4:00pm, said the OC.   

Quoting locals, OC Obaidul said Khairul had an altercation with his rival group of the ruling party over establishing supremacy in the area, adding that his rival might carry out the attack.
