Worker killed, 4 hurt in Munshiganj boiler explosion
A worker was killed and four were injured in a boiler explosion in a current net-manufacturing factory in Munshiganj early today.
The flying broken pieces of the boiler damaged at least five houses about half a mile away, our Munshiganj correspondent reports.
The explosion also left the main electric line and electricity pole damaged, leaving the whole town without power.
Shojib Byapari, 28, son of Shahid Byapari, was a worker of Saudan Fishing Net Factory of Muktapur’s Baghbari area where the incident took place around 1:00am, confirms officer-in-charge (OC) of Munshiganj police station Md Nurul Islam.
The injured- Delowar, 26, Aman, 28, Yusuf, 28 and Mariam, 24, were rushed to a nearby hospital.
“We have started repair work, we do not know when we can fully revive the electricity supply,” said Sheikh Monowar Morshed, deputy general manager (DGM) of Munshiganj Palli Bidyut Samity Office.
