Arson case: Arrest warrant for Bulu, Sohel, 12 other BNP men
A Dhaka court today issued arrest warrant against 14 leaders and activists of BNP-led 20-party alliance including Barkatullah Bulu and Habib-Un-Nabi Khan Sohel in a case filed for torching a bus in Dhaka.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's special assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel are also among the 14 BNP men.
Judge Kamrul Hossain Molla of the Metropolitan Session Judge’s Court passed the order after accepting the charges against all the 34 charge-sheeted accused.
The court also directed the officer-in-charge of Wari Police Station to submit reports on execution of arrest warrants by January 25.
According to the case statement, a group of BNP-led alliance leaders and activists torched a bus by throwing petrol bombs on Dhaka-Adamjee highway near Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover on January 30.
On September 10, Sub-Inspector of Wari Police Station Shah Alam, also investigating officer of the case (IO), submitted the charge sheet against the 34 leaders and activists.
