SRK-Kajol create magic in first “Dilwale” trailer

The anticipation has been building for a while, with blurry leaked photos from sets, buzzing discussions on social media and a heart-melting tribute to “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” by the arguably most-loved on-screen Bollywood pairing of the nineties: Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The first trailer for their big reunion, “Dilwale”, that dropped on the night of November 9, promises to bring back some of the magic that the duo created in their heyday – with films like “DDLJ”, “Baazigar” and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”.

The first look at the Rohit Shetty directorial has no shortage of dazzling visuals – be it stunningly scenic locations, abundant car chases/stunts or melodramatic one-liners. Shah Rukh Khan is still ruling Bollywood and hasn't looked anywhere close to his actual age of 50 in recent times, so his spectacular presence is not so much of a surprise as is Kajol's. The 45-year old looks downright arresting, and possibly draws the most attention in the trailer. Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, the two youngsters in the film look promising as well, but are ultimately a little overshadowed.

Also starring Johnny Lever, Boman Irani, Vinod Khanna, Kabir Bedi and Varun Sharma, “Dilwale” probably will not match up to the cinematic prowess of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's “Bajirao Mastani” (which it will clash with for Box Office bragging rights on December 18), but will certainly bank on the star power to register big numbers.
