Choppers used to douse Chawkbazar fire
Helicopters have been used to spray water and douse the fire that sparked at Chawkbazar last night that has claimed at least 70 lives so far.
This morning, helicopters were seen carrying water from Buriganga River and spraying them overhead in an attempt to aid the fire fighters.
It was a chemical warehouse in Old Dhaka that caught fire last night around 10:40pm, that quickly engulfed adjacent buildings in flames.
Fire Service and Civil Defence Director General Ali Ahmed told The Daily Star the fire spread to three other buildings from the ground floor warehouse.
Thirty-seven units of firefighters brought the fire under control around 3:00am.
